Macy believes in God? Well, she gives the divine one credit for giving her a wake up call by way of chart failure. She admits to getting cocky and said:
"I had developed a really huge ego. I wasn't the person I had been. And I had a little drug habit for a while. I wasn't keeping in touch with the people who cared for me," the singer said. "I believe in God, and I think it was just his way of doing things. Looking back, maybe I needed that. If I had kept going, I might be this horrible person - shaving my head or in rehab or some s**t like that."
Enough with the Britney bashing already! Anyhoo, if her little relevation wasn't enough
some nutjob named Paul E-something felt there was some cinematic value to her story and thus made a documentary on said subject matter. The film is supposed to go into the reasons for the nose dive her career took and it's also an attempt to explain her crazy behavior. (Drugs maybe?)
Too bad the director didn’t understand that Macy was a fad — just a novelty to be enjoyed like the Rubicks cube or a Pet Rock or betterstill Britney Spears. Even with this new attempt at chart success with the release of "Big" her latest effort, no one really believes that there are any die hard Macy Gray fans out there — maybe with the exception of Paul E-something.
Check out the very strange trailor for "Gray Matters":
